This image represents my first love in the world of photography, while making images with film. Lately I have been experimenting with film and bringing myself to where I began. The satisfaction on a personal project with film is entirely different than the experience with the digital photography. They both serve a purpose however there is a certain romance when making images with black and white film. I am embracing this and moving forward with capturing many more images in the future.
Recently Peter had a shoot with Coca-Cola for an ad campaign for their summer sodas. It was a beautiful day in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the shoot at a local pool. We scouted many and found the perfect one. Peter is fantastic working with a large crew, he directed six models for this lifestyle shoot and many other people behind the camera. The producer Vail Palmer for the shoot is amazing as well. She mastered organizing everything into place with preproduction and had an amazing follow through during the shoot itself. We were all sweating at a moment because we had all the products (sodas) except for mellow yellow which was only in a store 6 hours from the shoot location and had to get it in 20 hours on time for the production! Magically Vail had the Mellow Yellow flown in over night from LA to make it just in time, minutes before the shoot began. With all the efforts involved to have the production run smooth you have to laugh and play the Mellow Yellow song by artist Donovan. A great thanks to the whole team for a wonderful efficient creative day. Here are behind the scenes images from Peter’s beautiful shoot for Summer Flavors. We will show you the final product soon.

After many commercial and advertising campaigns Peter Langone has received over the years, the industry has changed drastically over the decade. An extremely fast paced creative business with the need for speed. Technology growing rapid in the digital cameras and software, allowing your imagination with photoshop to create the unbelievable from your fingertips. This photo manipulation is a whole new encounter and wonder, while Peter’s career started 40 years ago. Where there was no wacom tablet, sharpen brush, or layers of illusion.
When you were a photographer then, the only thing you wanted to love or capture was the light, in that moment, the second that everything came together with that shutter click. Ansel Adams may be the only person who could possibly manipulate an image in the darkroom with the most versatility which is still a far cry from what photoshop allows.
Over the summer of 2011, Peter Langone came up with an idea for a new book with art model Katlyn Lacoste. This project is a time warp of joy. Peter is approaching the book as a photography purist. Only using 35mm TRI-X film, Canon slr camera, with a 50mm prime lens.
Together the two will be traveling all over the world to focus on combining a female nude in the most beautiful vistas possible. Although it won’t be the normal nude in the woods image. Peter’s idea is to really connect with the viewers of the images making you have to find her. Katlyn Lacoste will become a “where’s waldo” scenario.
Peter and Katlyn have already tackled some of the America destinations in 2011 including the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park in Utah, Nevada desert beds, and North Carolina rocks and foliage. Up coming settings to shoot are the RedWoods in California, Alabama hills, Death Valley, Bali, Italy, and Greece and more!
Here Are some images from last year, developed as a teaser, a blog just for this book will be made soon. Keep your eyes and ears ready and enjoy.
Once the book is complete limited edition prints will be available for sale, as well as the book itself.
